Have your doctor run a TSH to check for thyroid disorder. Hypothyroidism causes weight gain, and a possible goiter may develop causing pressure on your vocal cords causing your voice to be horse or maybe slightly deeper.

No, fat has nothing to do with your vocal cords. Someone's voice might be lower if they were depressed because they are putting on weight.

It may a little, due to the heavier facial muscles/chin fat/etc, but shouldn't change significantly.
