it really means that he is willing to wait until you are out of your current relationship so that he can make a move on you, doesn't it?

I don't think two people of the opposite sex can remain as friends forever without at least one person developing sexual feelings for the other. Even though in the beginning friendship might be the intention, but as time passes sexual feelings will start developing.

Don't you agree?

Ok, I'm assuming that both of your ages are comparable (i.e. less than 10 years older or younger)

Most men don't care if you're in a relationship as long as they can get what they want.

Finally a decent question. I have five very close male friends. We've been good friends for several years and there's never been any sexual feelings. They're all gay men though. If you mean being friends with straight guys then I agree with you. It's difficult for a straight man and straight woman to be just friends. There's usually sexual tension and if something happens then the relationship immediately changes. I've had straight male friends but have kept the friendship on a lower level. My closest friends have always been women and gay men.

Usually you are correct, but there are exceptions. I'd say I've had more best friends who were women than men, but usually it didn't become sexual because of bad timing--we weren't single at the same time. The one time it happened that I was single at the same time as a female best-friend, she had to crush me when I asked her out. We were able to stay friends though.

Why worry about friends forever--it rarely happens. Usually you move on with your life, get new friends, and call the old ones a couple times a year.

Yes I do agree with you 100%...it is really a shame to because i would love to have men friends sometime to talk too.I only had one like that and he was gay...I think it would be great just for the reason to find out how the other side feels sometimes...I have tried but its always like you said turns to sex,I never did it but was very disappointed, because all I wanted was a friend...So yes I have to agree that you are right,I don,t really think it should be that way though, both sexes are missing out on a great friendship....

No, not really. I have some platonic male friends, they know I am married, we get along, can joke with each other. Its more of a brother & sister relationship. If anything happened to my husband would I be interested in them differently? No, what we have is based on strictly friendship.

I disagree. I believe some men have brains, and can develop healthy friendships. I have several malre friends. They're great, and they've been around for a long time.

My best friend is a boy and we get along so great. Just because we are friends doesn't mean we like each other.
