I think avoiding sugary sweets and drinks may help. The key to weight loss is low calorie intake and higher calorie usage. So staying active and energetic is a big important plus to burn fat. Sugar gives you quick energy but you pay for it in the crash. Try turning all housework chores into excercises and stay active throughout the days. Avoid big meals at night and before bed.
Drink Lots of water to increase metabolism (hydrolisis). Dont be afraid to sweat profusely with aerobics or just lots of movement. Try changing your eating habits by eating 1/3 food, drinking 1/3 water and leave 1/3 of your stomachs capacity for space (air).
Measure and Monitor your progress. Even if you lose a half of a pound a day. It will give you motivation and keep you on track. I did not mean to be long winded but these are some of the things that came to mind. I used to be a real fitness fanatic. Now I work too much but I love my work so, anyways. May Allah aid you in your quest for a new healthier you.
Talk to a doctor, visit or call your local health food store and start askng some questions. The clerks can be very informative. But whatever you do start with a good knowledge base to understand what is going on and how to reach the desired results.
Here are a few pearls of Islamic Eating wisdom from Muhammad (s.a.w.):
He commanded those who complained that they never felt full to eat together and not separately, and to mention the name of Allaah (say Bismillaah) over the food so that He might bless it for them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (3764) and Ibn Maajah (3286).
(See Zaad al-Ma’aad, 2/397-406)
It was also reported that he said, “I do not eat reclining.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5083.
He used to eat using the first three fingers (of his right hand), which is the best way of eating.
See: Zaad al-Ma’aad, 220-222. And Allaah knows best.
The Prophet’s guidance regarding diet:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to know what he was eating.
He used to eat what was good for him.
He used to eat enough to keep him going, but no so much as to make him fat. Ibn ‘Umar narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The believer eats in one stomach whilst the kaafir eats in seven.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5081) and Muslim (2060).
He taught his ummah something to protect them from diseases caused by eating and drinking. He said: “The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is sufficient for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls, to keep him going. If he must do that (fill his stomach), then let him fill one third with food, one third with drink and one third with air.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1381), Ibn Maajah (3349); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2265).
And Allaah knows best.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Losing even just 50 pounds in three or four months is dangerous. You can safely lose up to about 3 lbs a week. Even if you constantly set your goal for three pounds a week, there will be some weeks where you didn't lose weight and you will feel like crap and hit the ice cream. Focus on eating healthy and exercising right, with your doctor's help, and the weight will just come off in it's own time.

A safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week so it should take 1-2 years to safely lose the weight. Sorry but anything more can be detrimental to your health.

thats more than 5 ponds per week, very unhealthy!
the recommended weight lost at most is 3 pounds per week
what you want is what most of us want but is very unrealistic
eat properly and excersise,it may not come off as quick as you want, but it'll stay off,and you'll be healthy, which you need more than anything ,especially having kids. They need you!
