Depends how you define "lie"
If your definition includes "ommision of the truth", everyone lies, and it's frequenlty OK. Withholding your spoken opinion that someone is a #&%^$ is a lie, but that lie of ommission is better than the truth. In fact, that lie is a sign of ethical behavior.
Building a child's confidence telling them that they can do anything in life when you know that many dreams are not truly accessible to them is a lie (Haven't been able to flap my wings and fly yet!), but better than telling them the truth.
A lie is wrong when it is told to harm someone, or to gain unwarranted or unearned benefit. But there are a lot of 'proper" lies that are harmless, good, or even ethical.

if it can do no harm, and no good could be accomplished by the truth then it doesnt seem like there is any argument against a lie in that situation if you feel it is for the best.
incidently, you never lie? do you mean you have never knowingly alowed someone to believe what was not the whole truth about a situation? because that would be pretty hard going!

When the truth would be too difficult to explain, or when the truth would be to hard for the person to take, or when the discord casued by the lie would be more entertaining to watch.

We need to lie, a white lie, provided that it'd cause no harm or evil to anyone involved since we don't want to tell a fact which is unnecessary to those curious people.

It is never good to lie. But sometimes if you do a good deed it is fun not to tell anybody so you keep the satifaction in your heart. People won't know, but God will. It will be your little secret : )

I think, never. But I'll be honest and say I have lied before to keep someone from getting their feelings hurt. I didn't like it, but felt like it served a good purpose. (still think it's wrong though)

God said not to bear false witness against others. Anything else is up for grabs.
But then certain people might not trust you when you lie, and certain others might like you more for it.
Choose wisely, and God help you all...

never lying is impossible, even if it is not entirly a lie or the truth.
When is it good to lie, when it would spare someone a lot of pain.
