It wasn't that they didn't have an exit stradagy, one would have been impossible. Once Suddam was out of power, no body knew what was going to happen, and scared to guess. Dispite what all the politians say now, they were so eager to go to war, or prove they had the balls for war, than only an extreme few attempted the political suicide of asked what would happen next. And this is it. It's as you could have expected, and it's hard to believe that any other senerio would have even been possible. What's to come? A very slow stabilization that will take about 15 to 20 years, till the violence is then isolated then a rebuilding period of a good 20 or 30 years of reeducating the population to loose their prejudices against one and other... and that's if we do every thing right... which probably we won't.

It's a big dilemma that the present US administration has to resolve. Fielding more troops of 20,000 or more, won't help as long as the sectarian violence will continue in Iraq. And the number of US fatalities is increasing everyday! Why not pull back, bite the bullets and secure our troops. Urge the UN to pacify Iraq with a real multinational force involving all the member countries of the United Nations.

We supposedly went there because of 9/11. That was the original excuse and WMD's. We seemed to forget about the Taliban and bin Ladin because of Saddam and he had nothing to do with 9/11. Our Nation was attacked by terrorist and thousands of innocent people died because of it. We seemed to have lost that altogether and gone off in another direction. This is all BS and it has been since the very start. Bush needs more than anyone in history to be impeached...

Thats the whole point. Saddam is dead and you are needlessly losing life. You send more troops over. The President of Iraq asks you to leave. Bush says no. The Iraqis have no say over their own country. The US are no different than the Russians. Once you get them in you can't get them out.

We FIRST went there SOLELY because of WMDS, but somehow it turned into "showing the iraqis to protect their own people and make a democracy", and now that they begin to "lose" its magically because of iran and syria. There is no Win or loose situation if we are trying to HELP a country out, but responsibility should be taken. There is no real aim of what to do in Iraq and i think thats why we are losing.

because you can't easily change a country politics, religions, or way of life. Many groups that were actually suppress by Saddam are now rising and it is a big mess as they fight each others. Also many do not want the American Way. We went to this war for big companies incentive of profit but it felt and now Bush is doomed.
