I don't have any friends. Most of the people that were my friends in the past, didn't really know me and wouldn't meet me half way. I always seem to be the one that goes the extra mile. I really need a friend in my life. My husband really gets tired of me relying on him all the time. My husband and I have a great relationship, and my kids are great, but I would really like to have a girlfriend that I can share and do things with. Someone that will tell me that I'm normal, my life is normal, and that I'm not crazy. Does anyone have any advice on how to find and keep a friend? I do have trust issues, because of people hurting me in the past, but I'm willing to work on that. It seems like most of the people I meet are too busy telling me how great they are, how great their lives are, how much better or talented their kids are. So much competition. How do I weed through all the crap and find the real person and real friend?? Thanks for any help!

It's hard to go out looking for a friend, I think it's just something natural where when you meet ur best friend, u just kind of "connect" with them. I would say that you should start engaing in activities you really enjoy, like, say, golfing or volunteering. If you work, you should really look for someone you work with who you really think would make a good friend and invite them over or invite them for coffee or to go shopping or something like that. If you don't work, maybe you should consider a part time job or getting involved in more things that you enjoy. Then, just reach out to people. Show interest in what they say and their lives, and people will absolutely love you! Good luck!

I feel the same way. I don't have any friends except for my husband. I had a friend last year. She always was comparing and making her kids look like they're so much better than mine. I took that crap for a while, but then she tried to crawl into bed with my husband and me one night when her and I had had too much to drink!!Well that was the end of our friendship. I can't trust anyone either and can you blame me? I'm not one to say do this or that to find a true friend. I'm just waiting. Not jumping into anything just to find a "true friend". If God wants me to have one again He'll guide me I suppose. Maybe pray on it.

I know how you feel. I usually spend my time in the house taking care of my sons and husband. My best friend and I are not able to talk anymore she does not get along with my husband. I am also busy with my son who has cerebral palsy which he is a hand full but he is in school during the day. Good Luck

IF YOU GET FRIENDS YOUR HUSBAND WILL FREAK OUT- JUST DONT TRY TO HARD TO MAKE FRIENDS AND IT WILL HAPPEN - GO TO THE LAUNDRY MATT INSTEAD OF DOING CLOTHES AT HOME- OR TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH - YOU DONT NEED FRIENDS CAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT COME RIGHT ALONG WITH THEM- YOU WILL HAVE TO HEAR ALL THAT JUNK EVERY DAY - AND ITS ALWAYS ABOUT THEM NEVER ABOUT YOU- SO UMMM YEAH - STAY THE SAME-

Go someplace to do volunteer work for good causes. Charity work at schools, hospitals and places of worship are places to find good caring kind people.
