most of the time its when baby starts eating solids but it can take sometime as baby get used to different food and saying that sometime it can do the opposite by going very hard

The more formed bowel movements really start coming when they are on table food. Newborns have the really runny stuff...then baby food makes it browner and smellier and thicker...but once they are on table foods you will find it to be much more formed.
