You should specify what exactly you really mean. This could be interpreted in two different ways. The first way being that you yourself, or somebody you know, cannot fight the "war on terror" back east because of criminal offenses, and therefore are annoyed that others can go but you cannot.

The second way I personally interpreted this is that you, like many others, support the death penalty, and are accusing your government of sending off loved ones to die when people that commit crimes at home aren't dealt with with capital punishment. Quite hypocritical of you to think that if you ask me. Either way, your thinking process seems quite illogical, unless both of these interpretations are wrong, then I apologize.

I had the same thought and said it like this, the men are sitting in jails and prisons and some on death row, yet they excape this terrible tragedy of war. The men sit in prisons and get fat and live a luxury life as opposed to this outside world. The president send some of them to war and signal out those that would not run away, I bet those men and women will stop all this noisensense going on in this world today. Seems like the good is dying for the bad and this ought not to be cause they the ones living better lives as opposed to them in prisons. Someday we pray for a reform on this issue.

We have to much sensitive equipment to trust to a felon. In order to be in the military you must have a security clearance. In order to have this you must not be adjudicated as a felon, and must have a good credit history too. The reason behind this is to insure people are not tempted to sell our technology to other governments.

Wellllll............because we have become an elitiest society and think only the best and the brightest should serve in our military.
Seems the "powers that be" have forgotten that the military use to actually straighten out society's "rebels"

All folks in the military do not have security clearances nor do all deal with sensitive equipment. How sensitive is a M16?

They only send kids to war that have volunteered no one is drafted anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read our incarcerated, those in jails, are healthier than those (us) in the outside world.
I feel since they are so healthy, let them serve time in our war/wars. Jail is one thing but to have yourself scared half to death in war zones would indeed change a person for the better. While we work our butts off for a living, paying our bills, raising children, paying our taxes which they are a part of...it is time they give back to the system. They take from us..it is time they join in and pay their way by serving.
I am 100% for that.

INTERESTING Q'S. I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED THIS MYSELF. I THINK IN TIME OF WAR, WHY NOT GIVE THE CONVICTED FELON A CHOICE. SERVE YOUR COUNTRY OR RETURN TO PRISON. NO JUST KIDDING ABOUT THE RETURN ULTIMATUM. BUT WHY NOT LET FELONS MAKE THAT CHOICE.

well because felons could very well A) turn against us, and B) help out the enemy instead of kill the enemy. other wise i agree send the felons.
