It makes no difference what time you run your appliances because your meter just gives you a total usage for the month, wether you used the Dishwasher at 10pm or 12 noon makes no difference because you still used the same amount of electricity for the month.

Unless your electric meter is like a cell phone where they can measure peak and off peak usage it makes no difference.

The only good running appliances in the evening will do is put less of a load on the power grid during the day which cuts down on polution. Besides the benift to the enviroment there is no financial gain running appliances at a certain time.

Here is two cents that you may not have asked for ...but may help if your bill is higher than you like....

1.: run your dishwasher after 10 pm, as well as
2.: washing machine for the laundry--why?

Because these two items draw constant and intense elecriticity, and the rate per unit of wattage is less after prime time when EVERYONE is sucking up the electricity--so doing it later is cheaper--like a little reward!
