i know that the anime filler is ending really soon, but i also heard from my friend, who's a huge Naruto fan that the manga, the entire series, is coming to an end possibly sometime this year. Does anyone know why this is?

Well, it might be because the producers have no more ideas to add to the series.(this is ONLY wat i think)
E.G.
It is just like Gundam seed, they are running out of ideas for the series so they just have one more series on Gundam Seed and that's done for. (this is ONLY wat i think)

Ok your friend is a retard & you shouldnt listen to him.
I dont know if you read the volumes that are published by viz or watch it on CN but I read scanlations from the weekly manga that comes out(if it comes out in japan).
Right now with all thats happening there is no way it will end anywhere in the next 100 chapters(thats almost 2 years worth).
There are a lot of things that havent even been talked about. The other 3 kages havent been revealed yet so yea no where near close. With akatsukis plan there might be a war, so its a long way from ending!!

As long as the Naruto series is making money there's no reason for the series + manga to end, in fact, there's so much content and story to the Naruto universe, i doubt it'll end anytime soon
look at One Piece, Pokemon for example.

The fillters ARE over and Naruto PART 1 is finished.
As for the series, it has a long way to go.
Naruto PART 2 will be aired in Japan starting Feb. 15!

wat is ur friend talking about there is nothing that shows that naruto is ending becuse there i soo much left such as sasuke and atitsuki and the faox also oro anf if naruto ven passes chunin exam but not sure if that comes up
and the fillers end but the next series naruto wind chronicles starts feb.15

the dubbed version? or the japanese version? the japanese version is up to 217 and doesn't show an ending yet. as far as the dubbed, i guess they need to edit more shows.
