a. Assuming the rate at which the student washed the cars was constant, we can calculate the following:
first we figure out how many minutes are in 7 hours:
7*60=420 minutes
to figure out the rate, the we simply divide the total time by the number of cars:
420/68=6.18 minutes/car
we convert that to 6 minutes and 10 seconds
(to figure out the 10 seconds, you convert the 0.18 to seconds by multiplying it by 60)
b. The students charged $6.00 per car (408/68=6)
c. Each student earned $9.95 from the car wash ($408/41=$9.95)
Please let me know if you need further explanations. Just post an edit to your question. Good luck.

b - 408 dollars / 68 cars = 6 dollars per car
c - 408 dollars / 41 students = $9.95 dollars
I don't really know how to explain it.....but for b - if you charge 6 dollars per car and you wash 68 cars then that is a total cost of 408 dollars, for c - if all the students together earned 408 dollars and there are 41 students, then that is about 9.95 per student

a) 68 cars / 7 hours = 9.71486 cars per hour... guess that would mean between 9 and 10 cos you can't wash part of a car :)
b) $408 raised / 68 cars = $6 per car
c)$408 raised / 41 students = $9.95122 per student

68 cars per 7 hours, so to get 1 hour, divide by 7. Since you have some decimal at the end, round down.
$408 for 68 cars, so to get 1 car, divide by 68.
408 divided by 6.
