i heard somewhere that if your good at basketball ur good at tennis and vice versa. is this true?

I guess if you're conditioned well for basketball then you can probably last a tennis match. Also if you have good defensive movement for basketball (moving side to side) that might help with tennis as well.

Strong lateral movement, hand-eye coordination, and overall conditioning may be why this is true. However, in no game of tennis that I have played have I had to come into direct physical contact during the game (handshake before and after the closest thing to it). Since basketball is a very physical game, tennis does not compare in this regard.

I don't think so. You can't be good at both tennis and basketball unless you play them both equally and that is hard to do. Your speed and agility can be the same for both sports though.

Not really , but for both you need to have strong arm.

you need to keep your hips low and have quick lateral movement for both.
