What is are the best multiplayer games for the xbox (not 360) that aren't Halo or Halo 2? Any suggestions and maybe a quick sentence about what the game is about would be great. Thanks

I own an xbox and xbox live and i cant stand halo 2 myself i dont know why everyone else likes it so much. but neway heres my suggestions:
Splinter Cell: Chaos theory (really awesome with insane graphics even by today's standards even though its released in 2005., Really fun with alot of replayability if you like stealth games. CT is really the only good splinter cell game out of the 4 of them so i would recommend getting that one. there is split screen co-op and stuff)
Rainbow six 3
(dont know about split screen but XBL mp on it is great, really tactical game. modern military shooter, best RB6 for the xbox.)
and if youre going to get xbox live then i would definately recommend:
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
(not so tactical, but really really fun, tons of vehicles and weapons and maps are huge)
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
(same thing exept online there is versus mode which is REALLY REALLY strategic because its Spy vs merc and the spys are armed with LTL stuff, you have to break the mercs neck or jump on top of him from a really high height to kill him, really fun but also extremely frustrating at times for both spy and merc especially when your new.)
Americas Army:Rise of a soldier(developed by the U.S. army, really tactical and really realistic, awesome weapons and maps and yeah.)
Star wars jedi academy
(pretty much just killing people with lightsabers and weapons and using some force powers, fun for awhile, but after 3-4 months it will get a bit boring.
hmmm what else...
i know a lot more really great games but they either can be played on xbox live but not split screen or have no mp at all... umm....
if you dont mind INSANELY BAD graphics i would recommend operation flashpoint elite for the xbox, the maps are like 20-30 square miles and you can make/edit/customize your own mission and you drive pretty much every vehicle out there (most of them are old because the game is based during the cold war in the 1980's) theres like 20+ civilian cars to drive, 20+ russian and 20+NATO cars to drive, 2 jets, the A10 Thunderbolt II (american) and the Su-25 Frogfoot (soviet) there are also trillions and trillions of weapons available for use.
the even more sweet thing is how real it is. its based on real military, all weapons and vehicles are authentic from the 2 countrys (usa and ussr) from that time period. its insanely realistic, you can only take 1 or 2 shots to the chest before dieing, 1 to the head, more to the legs or arms, etc. and you can like, get your legs/arms shot off, and youll be crawling around because you cant use your legs or running around armless if you get shot with a powerful enough gun enough times in the arms or legs. theres also boats (mark II pbr and others) tanks (T80, T72, M1332 Gavin, Abrams, etc), and you can even fly a biplane. plus helicopters like the mi-24 hind, the cobra, apache, kamov, blackhawk, chinook, and more.
another example of how real the game is when youre sitting in the back of a helicopter you can hear and see the rotars kicking up dirt and sand. but yeah its really realistic and really fun (it has ENDLESS possibilitys for both online and OFFLINE multiplayer because of the multiplayer mission creater which allows you to do pretty much anything with stuff, once you figure it out, its quite complicated at first.)
the only bad thing about the game is the graphics that are so horrible they cannot be described by words, they take some time getting used to but when the gameplay is as good as it is you can forgive alot about the graphics.
so yeah.

Battlefield 2: modern combat is almost as addictive as halo 2. It's brimming with players and you can fly choppers, use tanks, cars, select from 5 diffirent solider kitts to kill, and is extremely addictive when you get the hang of it. Incorporates capturing flags in order to spawn in that areaa to hold back the enemy for you to win. check this site out:

NOPE because They both different game publishers, and each of them has their own onlie technique, Xbox u have to pay, and ps3 u dont to get online, They also competing to..!
