I went on it only for regulating my periods and acne and it really worked out. They used to be 10 days and went to 4. I can't imagine how I used to live without it. It also gave less cramps and less heavy days. It cleared up my acne too. It takes a few months though to really work in its full effect. I was about the same age as you when I first started also. I would talk to your doctor about what is best for you(you have to anyway to get the prescription) I didnt want to take the 4 a year one because you have a higher chance of spotting and I didnt want to be out somewhere and have that happen. Also if you end up getting on it and feel sick a lot more throughout the month make sure you tell you doctor because the first time I got it the dosage was too high and they gave me a lower prescription that worked out better.

I think Seasonale is the name of the 4 periods per year one. Talk with your doctor and she'll be able to help you choose a brand that will work best for your needs.

I dont know the name and this isnt going to be an answer, but I just wanted to tell you to be very careful. I know that modern medicine is great and all, but its just not normal. How can you stop your body from doing what nature intended? Where does the excess blood go every month? How is this going to effect your period when you do stop the pills? Just a few things to ask your doc. Like I said, I know nothing about this pill and I am not bashing it....just becareful and ask questions...lots.

Go to your doctor and discuss this with him/her. BCP's will regulate your period, but you should really discuss this with the person who has your health records. They'll know what is best for you.

You really should go and see a gyn. They are the ones that can help you and know if you should be taking the patch. I don't know the name of it and I am sorry. You really need to see a doctor.
