Have you tried a junk yard in your area? You may be able to pick one up for super cheap if you don't mind (a) a junk yard and (b) getting it out yourself.

If your carburetor is not outright missing, I'd recommend having a good local mechanic rebuild yours. Often a good rebuild of a worn-out but original carburetor will work better than a parts-store rebuild. The reason is that parts-store rebuilds have a tendancy to mix parts from different years, and often these don't work correctly together. If you have the original carburetor, having a mechanic overhaul it is going to be your best bet.

I would take a carburetor rebuilt by a teenager who'se never attempted such a thing in a basement workshop over a parts store rebuild - and I have experience with both.
