Mine lasted 30 hours total with a 7 hour labour. The doc told me at 39 weeks that the laten phase can last hours, days or sometimes even weeks. Being your third I can't see you waiting to long! Good luck and wishes of a happy healthy sppedy delivery!

I really wish I could be of more help, my water always broke first. But my OB did say that once you are in the beging stage (contractions) to just keep walking. My best friend and I walked up & down the block all night w/ her second her contractions became closer & closer & she went to the hospital & had her baby 2 hour after arriving, stay as active as possible it helps things proceed faster even though our first instinct is to sit & curl up. Good Luck, baby will be here soon

You can continue to dialate with no contractions or contratcions without dialating. anything could happen, you could be in a slow stage of labor if your having contractions without any further dialation, sometimes they have help progress your labor if your not dialating like you should be. Usually hospitals will keep sending you home unless your 5cm and or having contractions 3-5 mins apart. is that what you mean?

3 days of "pre" labour that was as intense as real labour. Contractions ever 7 minutes and I couldn't sit or lay down during contractions.

Please ask your midwife to check your babies position, my labour was so long because my baby wouldn't turn.

Best of luck.

Each woman and every delivery is different. However, statistically, babies tend to come faster in subsequent deliveries.

Here in the US, once contractions are coming every 5 minutes or sooner, we expect the woman to head to the hospital.

When in doubt, call your OB/GYN/MW and talk to them!
