My black moor has over the course of a few months changed from black to gold-ish. I mean all its color just went. Could this be bcuz of the food or the fact that its in the tank with only goldfish (all of one colour) and is adaptign or something ( this theory is likely). Please help would luv to regain my BLACK moor.

It could be the food or lighting but a lot of black moors sold in pet stores are the cull of the litter which means they aren't a good quality because of this their black may turn to orange or white over time. If it is the food or lighting then fixing that problem could bring the black back.

What are you feeding it? An improper diet will cause it to lose it's color. Bad water quality will as well. What size tank? How often do you change water?

maybe try feeding it more of a variety, it might help. try fresh veggies, like lettuce and cucumber, goldfish also like orange slices

EDIT: your water changes are the problem. High nitrates are probably causing some problems. Nitrates can only be removed with water changes. You should be changing at least 25% of the water weekly. You are going to have to change about 10% every 2-3 days for a while until nitrates drop. Get a nitrate test kit and change water until nitrates drop below 40 ppm, then change water weekly to maintain proper water quality.

First, the name moor is translated to "black" so when you call it a black moor you are double speaking and you sound like an idiot, sorry. Black is the most unstable color in goldfish. It does not last long. Eventually 90% of all black goldfish turn orange or white in a matter of a year or two. There is nothing you can do to keep the black coloration.

goldfish naturaly lose color over the corce of a few years. when a black moore gets older it loses the top black pigment and the gold pigment shows. if it gets realy old like 20 years old then it may lose the gold pigment and white will shou wich is a sighn of absolutly no pigment.

goldfish colors are seldom fixed -- american bred black moors usually are lighter underneath than other black moors due to lack of fixed color in the breed. fixed colors don't change -- if you want a moor that stays black try to find the one with the darkest belly. goldfish in the wild are a gold-brown color -- like chocolate fish in the store. he could just be reverting back to that -- its the dominant color for them. from there if he gets old he could go yellow and even silver. he could go back to black too. try to improve his diet with a variety of foods like frozen bloodworms and fresh vegetables like spinach and green peas. just boil them and chop them up into little pieces and drop them in.
