Well that's actually a really good question.

If you mean are there other planets like the Earth, yes, Currently we have catalouged some 160-200 star-systems both near and far to the solar system. Right now we can see only the big Jupiter sized worlds but in about 6 years we are launching and the French have already launched a space-telescope capable of seeing Earth sized planets. So in a few weeks to months data should start coming in from the French telescope and then in a couple of years the US's telescope indicating which star systems have other Earth sized planets.

It's probably the case that only a very few of these would be in the right spots and everything to be just like Earth but they are out there.

Are there planets like Earth with animals and plants and such very likey, but we just don't know - yet.

Are there planets identical to the Earth, it's not impossible , but it's just extremely unlikely.

However, there is a cool physics theory which suggests that every time any person makes a decision or an event happens no matter how insignificant, there are a number of possibilities, each one of these possibilities creates it's own separate universe.

Since the beginning of time there are essentially an infinite number of universes, for instance there is (according to this theory) an alternate universe where the only difference in the whole thing is that you ate a chicken and cheeze sandwich for lunch instead of ham and cheeze. An infinity of universes where Hitler won the WW II, an infinity of universes where there Jesus was never crucified, Where the Maya discovered the "Old World".

The premise was explored in a TV show called "Sliders" where some friends get moved from alternate universe to alternate universe looking to get back to their "home" Earth's.

No. what people who believe in other intelligent life out there in the universe forget is; while it is true there are billions of other planets, it is also a billions and billions to 1 chance that we ever evolved on a planet that can support our lives. The chances of this happening again are too remote to even think about, only simpletons and idealists believe in aliens! This earth is precious and unique.

to get to the nearest one would take a few hundred generations,
tghats like wandering in space and leaving when christ as born to arrive now
presume the thoughts and resentments that build in one generation
now multiply that times 200 plus breeding generations .geneticlly compatable population dynamic mean effectivly a small village needs provisioning amd suply with no top ups no mistakes for thousands of years
the polution lifting off that mass ,would cost brazillions ,thats trillions of billions
who pays
feed the world.?
dont feed fantisy.
so thus who cares
look at your neighbour ,love this creation ,fix this creation ,live on this earth
and leave the dreamings of the destractive what if stars dream on but not financed ,we got real things to do here
you think to escape ,to not have the next generation rebell?

If you mean Earth as another possible planet that we might possibly live in 1000-2000 years in the future then yes, and that would be Mars...

no! that is what the planet we live on is called. there can't be two earths in the solar system because it would confuse everyone and it is also mathematically impossible.

Maybe. Nobody knows for sure and Astronomers have not found one yet. Astronomers are finding more and more planets orbiting other stars so it is possible that there are planets very similar to ours out there somewhere.

I think that it is impossible that there aren't other "earths" out there. Maybe not exactly like ours, but at least one that supports life.

no. there are other planets, and there might be other life forms, but there are no other earths.

there can't be more "earths", but there can certainly be more planets with life.
