I used to love the United Nations, not so much anymore. What the hell happened to them? They now take years to respond to enormous conflicts like, um... genocide?! Ok, fine, if your peacekeeping volunteers deem Darfur too dangerous to moniter 24/7, fine. But women get raped venturing outside the camps looking for food, and men get killed. Why don't they drop in food so they don't have to leave the sanctitude of their refugee camps? The Berlin Airlift was pulled off without a hitch, and last time a checked the Sudanese are in more trouble than Berlin's residents ever were.

Yeah, Jason, it's really pissing me off how there's some great minds in the U.N. who's thoughts and ideas are diluted by moronic beurocrats who view their organization as nothing more than a money making government. Sad.

If anything needs reform it is the entire united nations. They are the most undemocratic organization on earth yet they make it their point to promote democracy. How can they give some countries veto powers but all the others are 'not important enough' to get the veto powers. A resolution can get an overwhelming majority of the votes but if it doesn't suit the personal interest of one veto country it will not succeed. It's almost as if they are saying 'all countries are equal but some are more equal than others'.

They have always had a history of failing to respond until it is too late. Before the Rwandan genocide they had 2000 troops in Rwanda and the leader got firm evidence that a genocide was being planned. When he asked the united nations for permission to raid the suspected weapons stockpiles which were soon to be distributed for the genocide, on 2 occasions his request was refused. The united nations then cut their troops down to 200. Only once a million people were dead did the UN react and by then it was far too late. They seem to be doing the same in Darfur. How many more must act before the UN reacts?

The United Nations is a useless organization, it's very sad to see what is taking place in Darfur. If it wasn't for the United States and all the money they give to the United Nations it would have already closed it's doors. When my wife and I saw Hotel Rwanda we were so upset at the United Nations. Then they always criticize the United States for certain things. What hypocrites !!!
