Plywood is made by slicing logs into very fine sheets, then the sheets are glued in layers to form (mostly) four foot by eight foot sheathing. Plywood comes in thicknesses from 1/64" up to 3/4"
Solid wood is sawn from whole logs and comes in what is called nominal sizes, like 2x4,2x6, 2x8 and so on.

Plywood is made up of several thin layers/sheets of various woods that are glued together under pressure. If you look at the edge of plywood you can make out the different layers. The individual sheets are usually laid so that the grain(s) of each is at right angles to the ones above and below. This multi-layering/laminating supposedly gives you an overall stronger and more durable piece of wood than a solid piece. Different woods are used depending on the specific usefullness/benefits of each wood. Birch is popular, and the woods used to make the plywood are graded for interior and/or exterior uses.

Solid wood is natural wood without any proccesment. Plywood comes from plies glued togheter. The plies are glued alternated with long grain direction and with short grain direction. This composition compensates the wood pressures and produces a final final product much resistend for bending than the natural wood. This product is used for construction industry, forniture indutry as well for the aircraft industry. There are different glues for plywood, ones are waterprooft (WBP) for general uses and others moisture resistent (MR) for internal end use.

Solid wood is a slab of wood cut from a tree log.
Plywood is a series of veneers cut from a log and glued with each ply grain crossing each other.
It has more strenght and flexibility than solid wood.

Not really sure what they mean by wood finish but wood veneer is some sort of core (particle board usually)covered with a thin sheet of wood . Neither grade will have as good quality as solid wood. Stick with solid wood furniture if you want somthing that will last. Even at that you can find many different qualities of solid wood.

Plywood is made by piling thin sheets of wood on top of each other. The direction of the grain alternates each layer (in one layer it'll run right and left, in the next it'll run front and back). This makes it strong and it doesn't crack easily, but it's not very pretty.
