Nino's in the Montrose area. Fabulous atmosphere, wonderful food and an extensive wine list. It's one of my favorite places in the whole city.

Niko Niko's Greek American Cafa (C)

Fabio's

Cafe Montrose

Sweet Mesquite is nice but I am not sure if its an anniversary type place. Savoy has amazing Indian/ Pakistani food, and Royal Restaraunt was pretty good the last time I went there (around two years ago...) so you may want to test out the place before you actually go eat.

Artista Restaurant (next to the HobbyCenter downtown)
The spindletop restaurant at the top of the downtown Hilton
La Strada

These are all dimly lit, white table cloth, nice music - I would highly recommend Arista.

Add Brennan's to the list. It's a Houston institution. We went there recently for an anniversary and they really made us feel special.
