I believe that.
I would like to see the borders temporarily closed and I'm a far left liberal. As far as how long they should remain closed depends on how long it takes to get the illegal worker problem under control.
Common sense should tell us that when 1000s of illegals are crossing everyday while our politicians sit scratching their heads trying to figure out how to fix it, that we need to close the border for now.
It's like imagining getting a bad cut that is bleeding and going to eventually make you bleed to death. Your family sees this and everybody sits down and decides to talk about what to do... meanwhile, you are still bleeding and going to bleed to death.
This bombardment of illegals is causing us ENORMOUS social problems on a financial, criminal and lifestyle level.
Btw, my previous significant other was from Mexico (educated and legal btw). So, if I, of all ppl, can say what I stated above, that should tell the politicians to WAKE UP that this problem is NOT a partisan issue.

Somewhat closed. Not just to keep the Latinos out but to keep other undesirables out. Our borders have been too porous for too long. We can no longer turn our heads, we must know who is coming into this country. What is to keep illegal Jordanians, Syrians & other near eastern people out; the ones who were responsible for 9/11. Do we want that again. Even with our diligance some could still get into this country. I don't think we want it closed so much as regulated & monitored. After all, we have no quarrel with Mexico or Canada. We just want to protect ourselves as much as possible. Then too, our borders are just too long to completly close. Guess I'm not in the 90%!

No. They want them protected from people who have either destructive intent, or employment and benefits (benefits for an illegal is extremely difficult to get, contrary to popular opinion) that harms jobs here in the US. There also is a component of bigots who will hate or distrust anyone who is foreign or different.

Nope not really. But heh let's go back to old communist behavior? Remember the Berlin wall which was back than the OSTBLOCK under russian occupaton? Hell, I guess we need better immigration laws and stricter rules not borders. Than start building walls out of bricks how about 100 feet high each of them. **** that will hopefully never happen.l

I don't know if the numbers are that high or if they want them fully closed, but a vast majority want to stem the tide of illegals that are invading our country.

Not closed, just stop the criminals from flooding into the country that's all. Bush supports slave labor.

I think that number is low actually. I haven't ever heard 1 person who thinks we should leave things the way they are.
