That wouldn't work. Both of those countries wouldn't mind having a chunk of Iraq as their own.

Neither. He's ignorant and naive. Neither Turkey nor Saudi Arabia provided troops for the "Coalition of the Willing" Turkey wouldn't even let us use their land as a base, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are Sunni Countries and would be attacked by the Shia in Iraq, neither country is stupid enough to take up such a "fool's errand, and Saudi Arabia doesn't need the money, and if 154,000 American Troops can't place Iraq why should 100,000 other foreign troops be able to do it. Do you get it that countries don't like to occupied by foreigners?

As soon as I saw the statement about non-Muslims being accepted in a Muslim nation, I quit reading.

We've had bases in Saudi Arabia and Turkey for a long, long time, and the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain are also among our allies in the Middle East.

Bahrain has a navy base
Qatar hosts our command center
UAE assisted in blockading the Persian Gulf since 1991

Oman, Jordan, Pakistan, India and Egypt are also allies

What this article says is especially not true of Iraq. In 1991, Iraqi civilians took 14 out of 18 Iraqi provinces by force and paused, waiting for US assistance to help them take the remaining 4 still under Saddam's control. They were EAGER for US troops in their country, and they felt abandoned and a little bit betrayed when we left.

I know it's easy for you guys to think you can watch the news and think you know what's going on, but you have to understand that the news does not educate you. Journalists are among the worst sources of information you can get.

Fox News is only better by degree. You still need as many outside sources as you can get. If you want to know about Iraq, read books written by Iraqi's. If you want to know about Muslims, read books written by Muslims. They're experts.

We pay Saudi ARabia and other oil producing countries in the region enough already that they can supply their own troops now. They have a vested stake in this war in IRaq and if Iraq goes to Iran, Saudi Arabia is in big trouble. You really need to brush up on the different factions of Islam going on in the region to understand that this blogger's information and suggestion is way off base and won't work and it is way too expensive for the U.S taxpayer to bare. Besides we pay too much for our military maneouvers as it is. I do not want to pay for another country's military occupation.

I see his point... but I'm not sure either Saudi or Turkey has that many troops to spare... they don't spend a lot on military I don't think...

and they would charge a HUGE price to go in... more than we are spending on our troops now...probably at least another 500 billion (so that would be ONE TRILLION spent in Iraq total) at least... and probably more...

and then he's talking about grant money too?

how much do you want to pay in taxes to support this plan? that's my question to you... I'm getting tired of "just putting it on the debt"....

The problem is that there are lots of different factions of islam. The Iraqis won't like being run by the Turks.

Why is intervention of some sort always the answer from the right? Why can't we just let them be RESPONSIBLE for themselves and protect ourselves and our borders from attack?

Does that make any sense?
