The date is 31 August 1957.
Malaysia will be celebrating its 50th year of independence so this is good time to visit the country.
It is great time to visit because the Malaysian Government intends to make the occasion a very big show, with lots and lots of programmes for its citizens and tourists.
If you wish to visit, watch out for 'cheap' air tickets available from budget aiirline Air Asia and Malaysia Airlines.
Not many countries in the world could celebrate 50 years of independence with the whole country relatively trouble- free and its population enjoying good economic stability and growth.
