Most fish grow to the size of their environment. If you have a small tank your fish will not grow beyond the limits of their space. Some fish are simply small. If you have a large tank and your fish "should" be larger than it is, then check out its surroundings. Maybe the fish is threatend by predators in the tank. Maybe it's stressed out. Yes, that's right. Many things can effect healthy living in an aquarium. Lastly, try adding another algae eater or adding more food to the tank. If one of those work you will have your answer. Hope that helps.......

if it is in a small tank it won't grow much. you need to feed enough some food gets to him too -- they aren't that keen on eating algae even though thats what they are supposed to do. theory has it fish secrete hormones that keep them from growing. betta growers get around this by changing water daily. i doubt you want to do that for your algae eater.

If he does attempt to consume it, it extremely is going to maximum probably kill him by skill of way of fact plecos have sharp spines on their backs. i've got have been given stored a pleco with oscars interior the previous with out subject concerns, they paid no ideas in any understand to the pleco, although the pleco become greater effective on a similar time as the oscar become youthful. frequently the undertaking with oscars is that if some element is small adequate to in advantageous subject of their mouths, they are going to attempt to consume it-and their mouths are extensive. if your tank is adequately great, and you do now no longer think of of your oscars will ideas the greater effective fish indoors the tank, you're able to desire to attempt it. yet, you're in all probability acceptable off merely scrubbing the algae off your self. Plus, you will could desire to supplement the pleco(assuming you're talking some pleco for an algae eater by skill of way of fact you would be wanting a great fish), he will knock out the algae in some day and could desire to run out of nutrition.

Alot of fish will grow according to the size of thier tank, so maybe you have a smaller tank, or alot of fish and it is preventing growth.
