For your song - how about "Corner of the Sky" from Pippin? He's a prince - and the period is about the same. It was really overdone back in the early 80's - but I think it's okay now. And for your monologue - how about Romeo from Romeo and Juliette. I know that seems kind of hokey - but his energy is a bit the same as the prince in Cinderella.
I love that play! AND - if the director will consider it at all - try to get him to cast you as one of the ugly step sisters. Their number "What's the matter with the man" is sooooooooo much fun. When I did the show - we had guys in drag playing the roles.
