I want to be more sociable, but sometimes I am really unsure what to say or what questions to ask. I was one very friendly and outgoing, but the older I get the more quite I have become. Any ideas for becoming more friendly with coworkers? I would like to develop some friends at work and I have tried to organize happy hour type events, but so far to no avail.

Take it slow. Don't try to make friends in an obvious way (such as a "come to my home to celebrate and be my new friend party")... You need to start one person at a time.. Before you know it you'll have lots of friends. Be a good listener... Forgive the jerks for odd office jokes... and learn to work the rumor ans gossip mill... One step at a time.

ah yes, we'd all like to know that, wouldn't we?

I have no clue. I'm trying to figure that out right now. You could try talking to people more and stuff, and making conversation on the main points in the things they say in each line. but i'm not helping the connection, sorry idk what to do.

but at least you were social once. i've never known the feeling.
