THe only time I have not returned it, is if my baby was in the car and the cart return was really far away. I don't leave my baby unattended for anything.

Depends on two factors:

1. If everybody returned them like 'good people' an employee would be out of a job and the Nation's economy might be adversely effected by all of the shopping cart returners all being out of work which would have an effect on the entire World economy and upset the Balance of Power.
We have to look at the Big Picture.

2. More importantly, how far I am to the return stall!

yes, always - even if I'm in a hurry. It's such an annoyance when trying to pull into an open parking space only to find a shopping cart in the way! Everyone should put their carts away! Be kind to your fellow shoppers!

Yes, and when my daughter just has to have one of those annoying race car shaped carts. I usually bring those all the way back in especially if it's raining so they are nice and dry for the next little kiddie.

Nine times out of ten i do. I either return it to the stall, park it beside a pole, making sure it don't roll away. I have even when driving home and seeing one on the footpath rung up the company to let them know. I need to get a life. ; )

Only if it's close by. If it's not, I try to at least put it with another cart and make sure it's against a lamppost or something so they don't roll all over the place.
