Factions in Iraq (mainly islamic militias) have declared war against the US in the form of multiple jihads.

The US Congress passed a bi-partisan resolution supporting the use of force.

The United Nations supported the war and subsequent efforts to bring Hussein to justice.

So, war with Iraq has not been officially declared, but has received unofficial endorsement by both sides and the global community.

No. Niether was war ever declared on North Korea (1950s). That is why it is called the Korean Conflict. The Korean Conflict was never officially settled. It is the longest cease fire known to man.

Congress approved the search for WMDs. Congress also approved the removal of Saddam. Congress has never approved the occupation of Iraq. Officially Iraq is a "conflict" by definition.
No one in the White House wants to use the words "occupation", the PR firm that was hired will not allow it. That is in fact propaganda.

No - neither was Vietnam - guess that is why we lost all these wars. To think about Iraq - we spend billions on national defense and a couple of Muslim hicks with a dull bladed knife - slice off a couple of heads and we loose. Anyone see the movie with Peter Sellers "The mouse that roared"

Bin laden officially signed war papers against us before we went in. Don't know if he was taken serious but the officials in Iraq witnessed it.

No. Congress authorized military action. IT DID NOT DECLARE WAR AND THE PRESIDENT DOESN'T HAVE THAT POWER.

Why didn't the republican controlled congress declare war as stated it should in the constitution? Because they knew it was "questionable" even then.
