Absolutely, almost everytime I read. As far as a connection that has stayed with me...I would have to say "Jake Barnes" from Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises." Now, I'm a woman, but there is something about Jake that moves me greatly. I cry everytime I read the book. I am always sad when it's over because, as corny as it sounds, I love Jake. He is the wounded Hero. I want to jump to his aide and take care of him and treat him better than Brett Ashley ever would. But I'm a nerd.

This is embarrasing but I have a connection to Neville Longbottom and Hermione Granger.
Neville because I have low self-esteem (It's improving ...) and I'm not really good at any school subjects except one which Neville is Herbology and mine is History.
Hermione because I love books, learning new things, and acting like a nerd.

When I was 9, I was utterly convinced I was going to grow up and *BE* Nancy Drew. The lack of a rich, quasi-famous father and any detective skills whatsoever was no obstacle to this belief because I was so sure I was just like her in every important way.

Yes. Tyler Durden/Narrator in Fight Club. The thoughts he brings up are absolutely true. The way he goes about changing the world on the other hand are not.
