open up word on your computer and dabble on it! very user friendly and really cheap- or join up an agency- all lessons are free once you're registered with the high street agys

To learn word you only need to practice typing a few paragraphs then formatting them in a desired way, you can try out some introductory paragraphs from a book. Then try to get the same format in your text, Buy a book if you r a totally new to formatting. all menus are self explanator Just try and see the results for yourself.

I agree with the idea of just opening it and using it. The 2 biggest things you'll need to know how to do are "type" and "save".
Maybe learn how to change font size, and activate double-spacing..... But its all easy to learn so you'll be fine.
