July 1st, 1867, Confederation in Canada. 1900 the Boer War. 1914-18 First World War, the war to End Wars.
1920's the Great Depression.

Sometime between 1900 and 1905 - the American-Spanish war (Cuba became independent and Phillipines became an American colony).
