I like Obama, but it would be nice to see Hillary get in. It would be nice to see richardson win, but I don't see him surviving the primary. There should be more hispanic senators and reps first.
I would rather have Obama be my prez, but it would be great for gender relations if Hillary could get in.

Honestly, I would rather see the best person for the job win. Gender nor race matters. We need someone that can turn this country around.

I'm not quite sure which idea of treatment you are referring to... but, in any case, I'm not sure. Many Black men are "followers" and are so wrapped up in their own egos and personal images (i.e. how they appear to their "boys") that they mistreat Black women in the process, just to gain "cool points." Now, don't ask me why "cool points" would even be involved in the mistreatment of Black women... but somehow, it is. Many Black men love to generalize us, like we all are bossy with attitude problems... but it's just a stereotype that they buy into. They use this stereotype as their excuse to mistreat us and/or run to women of other races. (BTW, nothing wrong with interracial dating, but don't use the "shortcomings" of Black women as your scapegoat). People like the guy here who made statements like that no Black women want "nice guys" are simply looking for Black women in the wrong places. I am a Black woman, and I am married to a nice guy. Sure, I went through the "bad boy" or "thug" phase -- when I was like 14!!! (But most girls go through this -- not just Black women). But, once I grew up (and it didn't take long), I realized that that's not what I wanted. First of all, that's not how I was raised, and I knew that a "bad boy" would do nothing for me. I met my husband when I was 18 (6 years ago), and he was, is, and always has been a "nice guy." He called me the DAY after he got my number. And then, he called me every day after that. He opened car doors (and still does). He romanced me. He did all of the things that Black men [who turn to other races of women] claim that Black women don't like or appreciate. And I loved it. He made a great boyfriend... he's a great husband now... and a perfect father. So, please, if Black men don't like to be generalized, they should not generalize us either.
