I wonder if it is worth it going to college for so much money when hard work might replace it.

Depending on your career choice not necessarily. Whatever you do you will need additional training. Trade school, military training, whatever. These days not many people will be able to find a job that will allow you to support yourself without some type of additional training. Find out what you like and go for it.
Google the Occupational Outlook Handbook for descriptions on educational requirements about specific jobs.

Depends. What kind of job do you want? If you want to be a scientist, engineer, researcher, etc, you'll need a college degree, if not several. But if your intended career doesn't require a degree, maybe you shouldn't bother.

Absolutely, and do your best and obtain a marketable degree. Otherwise you will be stuck in low paying jobs and unable to support yourself let alone a family or home in the future.

Sure, college isn't for everyone. If you don't feel it is worth it, don't go. If you decide to change your mind later in life, you can go to college then.
