0-0 (Love all)
15-0 (15-love)
30-0
40-0
(or any combination with 15, 30, or 40)
40-40 is a deuce. The next person who scores gets the Advantage. If they score again, they win the GAME. If the other player scores, it goes back to deuce and so on.
Whoever wins that game gets a set point... 1-0
Games are repeated until a player gets 6 set points. But, they have to win by 2 set points. So, if the score is 6-5, a player can either win 7-5 or it can go into a tiebreak 6-6. Whoever wins, wins the SET.
For a tiebreak, players play up to 7 game points...They keep playing until a player wins by two.
All of this is repeated until a player wins the majority of the sets. For women it is out of 3 sets and for men it is out of 5 sets.
So, basically scores look somewhat like this:
Player A - 7(7) 4 3 6 7
Player B - 6(5) 6 6 2 5
In parenthesis is the tiebreak score for the first set.
As you might see, Player A won the most sets (3). So, that player is the MATCH winner.
So basically, the order is GAME, SET, MATCH. Games consists of game points (15, 30, 40). Sets consists of games won. Matches consists of sets won.

Points are counted as 15, 30, 40, and game, but you have to win the game by two points. If both people get tied at 40 it is called duece. At this point points are called "advantages". The person who wins the next point after duece has the "advantage" (or "ad" for short), but to win the game you must win one more point while you have the advantage. If you lose that point it goes back to duece until someone gets the point for the ad and the next point to win the game. For the sake of time no-ad scoring can be used. This means that the point after the first duece is the only on winner take all. In this case the reciever gets to pick which side is to be served to. Game scoring goes 1-6, and at 6 you've won a "set." But you still have to win a set by 2 games. If both people get to 5 games in a set, then whoever gets to 6 has to win game 7. If both people get to 6 a tie breker is played to determine the set. Basically each person takes 2 serves a piece until some gets to 6 points, but again you have to win by two points. If both people get to 6 the first person to get a two point lead wins the set. And sets are played best of 3 or 5 to determine a match. When calling out the score (which should be done after every point to avoid confusion) say the servers score first. So in a game the server has 30 and the reciever has 15 that would be 30-15. In a game if the server has 2 games and the receiver 1 it would be 2 games to 1.

they are in order: love, 15, 30, 40, game.
If you reach 40-40 you are tied, "Deuce". You have to win by 2, so when you are at deuce if the server wins it is "ad in" and when the server loses it is "ad out". From that situation it is game (person with the advantage wins) or back to deuce.
For a quicker or social game you can play "no-ad" scoring, it's just 1, 2, 3, 4, first to 4 wins even if it's 3-3.

15, 30, 40, game.
You have to be ahead by two scores to win. 40-40 is called deuce, then Advantage, then game. A side can lose advantage and go back to deuce if the other side scores.
