We have these things that have buttons on them. You can't talk in them but it sends an alert to the police that you're being raped and need them to help and they can check on their computer which "station" the button was pushed at.

I think it's a nice idea, but kind of pointless. If someone's gonna rape you, they probably won't pick right next to one of those buttons to do it and if you're running from the guy you're not gonna hang out by it, either...

lol! I visited a college that had phones like that next to some of the buildings. I looked at it and thought, "If I'm getting raped or killed, how I'm going to have time to get to one of these phones and call the police? I'll be dead by then."

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it would be very helpful. I think it reflects badly on a college, if so many people get raped that they need to have a phone like that. It must also be kind of scary when you see it on your own college campus and think, "Wow, just think: This must be where people usually get raped."
