You should try acne-free. It works really well you can get it at Target and is the same thing is Proactive but a lot cheaper. Best of luck!

As an esthetician i would like to provide you with some advice. 1. Wash your face and neck twice a day (morning and night) with a good cleanser. 2. Use a toner after you wash your face applying with a cotton round to the face and neck. 3. Apply a medicated gel/cream to spot treat blemishes. 4. Apply an oil free moisturizer. 5. Use a face scrub once a week before or after washing your face. Here are a few good products to use: Laroche Posay Effaclar Line (Wash, Toner, Effaclar K treatment, and Moisturizer) Vichy Acne Line Clinique St Ives Apricot Medicated Scrub Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser These products are fairly inexpensive in the long run and you should see great results after a few weeks if you stick to a regimen.

Ok. I have an acne prob. too. I recently was watching tv and saw a commercial for a product called Murad. Now I've triend everything to get rid of my acne and have found that I'm allergic to benzoyl proxide (in most acne product, like Differin and Proactive) and it has made my ance much worse. Well, yeah. I saw this commerical for Murad, and thought "what the heck? What can I lose besides my zits?" So I called in an ordered it. It WORKED!!!!!!! I LOVE MURAD! It is the best product I have found and suggest it to everyone!!
Hope you can try this product and enjoy it as much as I do!

Hey been there, done that! I have tried all those products as well and they don't seem to work for me either. I've also tried Proactiv, it's really good and it clears up acne....but i have sensitive skin and it irritated my skin and made it red. My skin is super super sensitive and anything i use could make me develop a rash on my face. Right now I'm using shiseido skincare. It's really good and gentle on my face. You could try going to a department store and have someone look at your skin and tell you what products are good for it. Also everyone tells me Noxema works well and it's cheap too, maybe you could try it, Good luck!

I would say don't get proactiv. My friend got it and still haven't noticed any difference. I use something many girls I know use. Mary Kay's Velocity. Both facial cleanser and lotion. I also use for those terrible acne days is Maybelline's Pure. Concealer (concealer and blemish treatment stick in one). I love this. I carry it everywhere. Use only two to three times a day or it will dry your skin though.

Principal Secret Reclaim. I use that stuff. It works so well. You only use it three times a week. It's the best stuff. You use the Buffing Exfoliant first and then you use the blemish control stuff. which will help you so much! It dosen't take long to get rid of your acne; only a couple of days. and you keep using it, same routine 3 times a week use it right after you shower.
It works great.
Principal Secret Reclaim, the Buffing Exfoliant and the Blemish Control.

Dont waste your money with those acne soaps. Acne pron skin is very sensitive. 1/2 the break outs are from irratation alone! Use dove facal bar when your skin is needing a "bit" of moister. Use ivory when you dont. Follow up with tee tree oil on a cotton ball on break outs or oilly spots. (find it in the health food store or in wallmarts herb supplament section)

proactiv and neutrogena = trash. Most of these cleansers for acne would only make your face worse because of the chemical they used to produce. I suggest something more natural like Kiehl's.

I have the same problem!!! Definitely DO NOT and I mean DO NOT EVER use proactive if you have the skin you say you do. I tried it for 5 months and it made my skin soooo dry and very, very itchy. It didn't clear up the acne either, it made it worse! To top it all off, it caused me to get red scars that took 4ever to go away!!! The dermatologist prescribed me two very lightly medicated topical creams designed for sensitive skin.
I never, ever use facewash. The dermatologist told me to instead use a cream make-up remover that doesn't require the use of water. Simply spread the cream on your face and then use soft tissues to wipe it off. Afterwards, you use a very gentle toner to make sure all the makeup is gone. Finish off with some eye makeup remover placed on a cotton ball for your eye area. After this, use a spray bottle filled with water to mist your face. After misting, wait about 1 minute to let the water soak in a bit and then use a good moisturizer. After the moisturizer is in place you wait for ten minutes and then go ahead and put the prescription medication on your face. Spread it lightly over the areas in which you experience breakouts (I put it all over my face) and then use a tissues to dab your face to get any excess lotion, water or medicated gel off your face. Repeat the process in the morning, but wait 5 minutes after dabbing your face with the tissues to apply your makeup. Do not leave your makeup on during exercise and try to keep hair with product in it off of your face and try not to touch your face during the day unless your hands are very clean, and do not let your boyfriend rub his grubby hands all over your face either, and I gurantee you this will clear up the acne and also make your face very smooth and soft without having the dry skin!!!
The products I use:
Merle Norman cleansing lotion
Merle Norman fresh and fair toner
Duac Topical Gel (clindamycin 1%, benzoyl peroxide 5%) during the day only when I wear makeup and wipe all excess off with tissue
Retin-A MICRO ( tetinoin gel .04%) nightly
