I think ANYBODY on here siding with one race or the other is IGNORANT!!!! What idiots you are to think that all white people rule... or all black people rule... or one is smarter than the other... blah, blah, blah... Idiots... Race isn't what makes a person, unfortunately a lot of people judge themselves, or others, based on their race. But that is not what "makes the man". Take your heads outta your butts. Go learn!

Mulatto is an old-fashioned term, reminiscent of the days of slavery, so be careful using this word. The modern, more inclusive expression is "mixed race."
Both Halle Berry and Barak Obama are acturately termed as "mixed race" or "biracial," thereby respecting their double heritage.
You should allow everyone to decide what they want to be called, and respect that. If a black person wants to be called biracial, if a biracial person wants to be called white, if a white person want to be called "honorary Asian", if a man wants to be called Amanda Reckinwith, then you should respect that and honor their request.
Stop harping about what the press and "other people" may or may not do - your statements are vague and inconclusive. Focus more about what YOU say and do.

I disagree with you. I'm half white half black and people always knew me as half black half white. I don't pretend I'm only black because that's not the truth ( even though I just look like a light skin black person ). Halle Berry looks more black that white so she is known as black woman. Barack Obama looks more black than white so he's known as a black man.

A human being can not be half of anything. They can be bi racial, but not half. If a person has one black parent they are generally considered to be black. Except maybe for Victoria Raul's child who looks very definitely white, Donna Summer had a daughter who looks very white as well as Eartha Kit. Strange huh?

If one of my parents had been white or any other ethnicity, I would find the term "mulatto" (mutt) deeply offensive.
Halle, Barack Obama "identify" themselves as Black people.

Well I'm half black and half white but I don't define myself as an African-American. Everyone knows that I'm half balck and half white because I don't look like one full race. And no I don't feel less represented because I know what I am and who I am is me, a human, like everyone else.

Well they say one drop of black blood makes you black. Black is mostly the more dominant of the two races when they are mixed. Hair is more coarse and skin is darker. It would be harder for a mixed race person to try to pass as white then it would for them to pass as black.

if white folk say that one drop makes you black aren't you playing into the stereotype. I think a person can be both black and white, I don't see anything wrong with that.
