My friend is a constant liar, and a attention hog but i learned to live with it, that is until she told me that she went to her cousins house got violated by her cousins friend and then raped by that same guy that night. I would usually believe her but like i said, shes an attenion hog--I mean i feel bad for her and all but i'm not sure if its another lie to get attention or not. she wasn't acting different at all and she wasn't sad or different at all. How can i tell if shes telling the truth? I want to believe her but she just sounds like the girl who cried lies. What should I do??

Get phone numbers of rape hotlines and give them to her. If she really was raped she may want to call them. If she wasn't then she will throw the numbers away. Giving her the numbers will show her you care, but you won't be falling all over her with sympathy, know what I mean?

evaluate the situation. if your friend was actually raped, she has most likely been intensely affected by it. You can't go through a terrible situation like that and come out of it indifferent. You say that she's not sad or upset or guarded at all... therefore I believe it is definitely a lie. That's horrible that she'd say something like that just for the attention of it. as for the lies? I wouldn't want a friend I couldn't trust... better friendships come from dependablity and cause LESS DRAMA!

you should tell your friend that she should appreciate her life and the fact that she hasn't had to deal with that. Being raped is not something that you'd want to have happen to you so why would she try to pretend that it did?

PS: if she is lying, that's disgusting, insulting, and obnoxious..

Don't tell her that you don't believe her, but don't make a big deal out of it. I was raped a few months ago and trust me, it changes you. Everyone could tell I was hurt and something was wrong with me, even people who didn't know about the rape. She could be telling the truth, but there's also a possibility that she's lying. The truth will come out in the end.

If she did then ask her why she didn't report it? And if she makes some kind of excuse, then maybe she wanted it to happen. And yes she could be just looking for attention. Ask her if she is willing to go to the doctor, and have herself checked out. If she did and ifshe was a virgin before it happened, the doctor would know. And if she is under age, then let her parents know, so they can have her checked out.

something like that has strong emotional and physical differences, and so if she has stayed the same than yes she is lying b/c something like that would have changed her at least slightly if anything and somehow, but since she is the same person than she is just a bad liar, i mean if your going to lie at least do your homework.

Well if she hasn't said anything about it again, it means she's lieing. But when you see her tell her to go to the cops and see how she will react. Or test her and tell her that you told the cops and they should talk to her soon and see what she does. I bet she's lying though. i wouldn't worry to much if she doesn't mention it again.

really in the end, its just best to believe her. if she is lying it is not your fault for believing her, this is a pretty big deal. but what if she is not lying this time? what if she is really telling the truth? you don't want to be the one who didn't stand behind her, she is your friend, liar or not.

Tell her 2 report it 2 the police. If she doesn't want 2, she's lying.

if there hasn't been a change in her attitude maybe she is lying. don't tell her that you don't believe her because it may be true. just listen to here and be supportive to her feelings even if shes trying to get extra attention.

ask other friends if witness or there around that had be with her if its true then tell ur friend to call police, or if no one around with her tell her to show u where is her abuse mark, or red anything on her while raped but dont said to her when i see u i wanna see ur mark or anything because then she will make her own mark herself, just dont said anything when u see her asked her see what she act or said something to u. if she said there no mark or anything then she must be lying.
