None. I know people who where breast fed and are as dumb as a box of rocks. Breastfeeding alone will not increase a childs IQ. There are many factors like genetics, nurturing and schooling to name a few that determine an idividuals intelligence. Breast milk is natures "perfect" food for infants, and obviously when a childs nutritional needs are met they are physically and mentally healthier, therefore more prepared to learn. However, infant formula has come a long way in the past decades and is also an acceptable way to feed a baby, and parents who choose to do so can expect there child to be just as intelligent as those who breastfeed.

there have been reports on the fact that some breastfed children (on avg) have higher iq's than non.. but there are no actual set in stone statistics because you cannot take the same person and conduct experiments with both breastmilk and formula. no two children are alike.... even with the same parents and educational path... a comparison of the two(one a formula baby the other a breastfed baby) could not be compared because the problem solving, memory, emotional and all other general thought processes vary from one person to another.

there is extremely no way that breast feeding will boost the risk of somewhat one coming up heart ailment. Breast milk is particularly nutritious and is obviously produced particularly for toddlers. Who ever is attempting to unfold this propaganda is attempting to get some toddler formulation to sell. Breast milk is greater powerful than toddler formulation and could constantly be greater powerful. Breast feeding helps with the mummy new child bonding. It helps to advance the immune gadget of the toddler. Breast fed toddlers tend to have larger IQ. Breast feeding helps to lessen the risk of diverse long term and persistent ailments. There are lots greater reward that the two mom and new child gets from breast feeding. I even have time-commemorated of a few mothers who breast feed their toddlers for over 3 years and those toddlers, now adults, are very healthful.

My brother who is 36 years old was only ever on formula and back then they didnt have near the good stuff we have today and he is an Actuary,so I personally think breast milk is best if you are able to breast feed and want to but it does not always mean that you will be smarter and my brother is living proof of that.

I don't know about that, but breast feeding is the way to go. Personally I think a lot of people start out great, regardless of breastfeeding or not but it's their experiences and upbringing that ultimately affect how you are in school, etc.

It is claimed about 5-10 points I think. However I'd like to add that my nephew and neice were both formula fed both scored 130+ on IQ tests in 3rd grade. Both skipped grades in school. So i think it has more to do with genetics then what you feed a baby in their first year. After all you could tit a baby for a yr and never interact with it and what would its IQ be in the end. Again I think its propaganda. now give me the thumbs down to all you titters out there

You've got it all wrong.
Breastfed babies are more intelligent because a higher percentage of highly educated mothers tend to breastfeed, say researchers from the Medical Research Council (UK) and the University of Edinburgh. A higher percentage of breastfed babies are brought up in a mentally stimulating environment.
You can read about this study in the British Medical Journal.
