i'd simplify it:
when you react to violence w/ another act of violence, it only adds more hate, hurt, and unrest. this adds more confusion to an already confused society. the only way to change things is to react with love, not hate.

If people react to violence by also acting violent it will only make matters worse. It will only add to a bad situation. The only way to get rid of hate is to show love.

Taking an eye for an eye approach to being wronged only makes things worse. By responding to the violence in our communities with more acts of senseless aggression, we are spreading only hate and fear when we need to be spreading tolerance and healing.

your own words? are you just looking for an explanation here or are you asking for someone to give you the words to submit? the returning violence portion could also be described as the other adage, he who lives by the sword dies by the sword, and hate not able to drive out hate, that part, could be compared to the other adage, love conquers all. hope this helped you!
