I read that usually your born with your IQ and it stays in that range. But does it ever grow over time? For example, would your IQ be higher after you finish college than before college?

There can definintely be a change in your IQ over time. In my profession, we have teenagers' IQ retested as the IQ we receive was often from a test when they were 5. The IQ can change significantly or practically not at all...higher or lower. Several things can factor into this.

Your IQ decreases with age, but age is accounted for in most standardized IQ tests. If you want to raise your IQ it's possible to do through better test taking strategies, but they say you can't ever raise it more than 10 points. Good luck!

I know my score is higher as an adult than it was when I was a child. Significantly higher is some parts. They used the WISC and WAIS on me each time I was tested. Even though I do not have a significant other I have been told by a teacher that can potentially raise a score.

My dad had his IQ tested twice. Once it was 100 and the other time 130. But he was mentally ill and that may have gotten in the way, when he got the lower score.

I've seen a few IQ tests which vaguely hit on vocabulary, so quite possibly, but only slightly I think

probable. i imagine the type of music that is reducing u.s.'s IQ is dirty rap and songs like female friend by technique of Avril Lavigne. Classical music is of direction instrumenal, so that you won't be able to get some thing out of the lyrics. yet when human beings in user-friendly words listened to music that shows intelligence of their lyrics, which contain classics like the Beatles, we would likely be smarter commonly.

I've read somewhere that as you get older your IQ decreases.

I think you can educate yourself further, and I have to agree, I don't know if you do get a higher I.Q. or not...I know you can see your mind deterioate...sadly...but not so sure..good question

I think that there can be a slight change, but not anything drastic.
