I can go on a field trip with my French class to see Les MIserables. I really like French and all but is it worth asking the $125 bucks from my parents? (85 for the ticket and extras). Thanks

Yes you should see it.
For several reasons.
Live theater is another world compared to all other forms of drama. You will never really have a clue how wonderful a professional production is unless you see it in person.
The music is great.
The drama is enchanting.

It will be the best 125 bucks your parents ever spend on you.

I am sure you think the same thing I did when I was your age... "ho hum. another cultural enrichment thing.. i wonder if i will stay awake." But after every musical or dance performance, I was really very glad I went. As I got older, I realized how valuable most of those things are and still relish going to the symphony. Please don't let your inexperience be the reason you choose not to enjoy the experience. You will never regret it. Your parents probably already know that the value of the experience is many times greater than the cost of the ticket and will have no reservations. Going to see Les Miserable is much more than just an entertaining night out; the only way to describe it is to say it's magic.

You will enjoy the live performance alot more if you rent the DVD and watch it with subtitles first. Watch it twice. Then you will be a step ahead and understand more of the meaning. At the performance, you will be too distracted by the grandure of the staging and beauty of the music to be able to take it all in and you won't understand much of the lyrics.

Bring a tissue. You will probably cry; not for the tragedy but because of the wonderful feelings the music and drama will bring out. Walt Disney makes you cry 'cuz the story is sooo sad. Victor Hugo will stir your spirit. I still get misty thinking about it.

I've seen Les Miz twice. If you like the Phantom of the Opera, you'll most likely like Les Miserables. It's a very moving story with incredible music. However, if you have a short attention span, I'd watch out because it's very long. I didn't notice this when I saw it, perhaps because I was so caught up in it, but my sister, who loved it the first time she saw it, the second time felt it was too long. But I would strongly recommend seeing it because it's one of my favorite shows in it's musicality, emotional depth, and overall feel. London productions are usually very good quality, so I'm sure the actors will be very skilled. Enjoy whatever show you see!

OMG YES!!! It is so worth it. The story and music are incomparable. I take it you are in a major city and are getting a good seat. You should be in the orchestra and fairly close for $85.00. The music and story will whisk you away into the French Revolution. I have seen it twice with the touring company and last year my daughter played Mdme. Thenardier in a local production. Go and have fun, you will really enjoy it!

It's a great show... if done properly.

I saw the student version and that was really long. The student version is shorter than the real version, but still interesting.

I would definitely suggest seeing the show. It is amazing and worth the money if you get the opportunity. However, if you don't like depressing and drawn out, I would skip it.

It has a great plot, even if it is depressing.

Two thumbs up... lol

Well, if you're willing to pay that much, it is definitely worth it! Les Miserables is one of the best musicals of all time! If you don't go, you will regret it when your classmates start talking about its awesomeness!

To be honest I have seen allot of plays and this one was not one of my favorites, but your taste might be different. It had a good story and all that I have just seen better.
