it would be mostly symbolic. But as far as I can tell, Obama does seem to be one of the more intelligent candidates out there, black or white. My problem is there are more than few white folks who would be reluctant to vote for him just because he is black, therby putting a lesser man in office. That, my friend , IS racism.

I personally don't care if the president is black, white, male, female, or whatever for as long as he or she can do a great job at it, maybe enjoy it, and do good for this country. I'm willing to vote for anyone who can get the job done right and not abuse the power.
