Jim Brown is not only the best running back ever to play in the NFL, he's the best player at ANY position.
For running backs, there's Jim Brown, then there's everybody else.
Walter Payton and Barry Sanders might round out the top three, but there are always arguments for a few other guys.
I'll tell you one thing... All three of these guys were better than Emmit Smith.

well the top 3 would be walter payton, emmit smith, barry sanders, but walter payton is the best rusher ever to play football.

Barry is the best in my opinion becuase he was undersized and had a horrible offensive line, but was still the most explosive runner and would have broken the record if he didnt suddenly retire. **Imagine if he would have had Emmitt Smith's line**
