And bring to the table an open mind to put this country on its feet again. That is logical especially with all the foreigners we have creeping in with their ownerships of our banks, and credit card companies? Don't you think that there are some good politicians in there that could make a difference? And who are they? And please don't start that bush thing again, stand down, stand mute please don't make me laugh.

If we can accept we are all still Americans albeit with different ideas of how to make the country better. If the goal is the same overall at the end why isn't compromise an option?

Check out my post on the question in politics asking what would be different if Gore had become Pres instead of Bush. If your first reaction was either we'd all be dead, or 9/11 didn't happen...oh well enjoy the past it's not changing.

What's gonna change if we don't figure out a way to get this mess cleaned up. Dems won't do it alone & neither will Reps.

The most complimentary thing I heard a Democratic leader say about Ronald Reagan as a political opponent was that even if he was 100% opposed to your view/issue or whatever he didn't have to go personal to feel he'd beaten his "rival"

I'm a Dem, didn't care much for Reagan personally when he was in office but came to recognize he was a great president.

Voted Gore in 00, we lost. I understandwhy the electoral colege is important and won't refight a battle six yrs gone.

My only hope tonight is may some people listen to Presidnet Bush and not be focused on ripping his mannerisms, style whatever If you respect the Presidency but not Bush you don't respect the Presidency

Likewise what good will come from Reps jeering & mocking the Dems response. Try to find one positive thing, bound to be one right.

Or just carry on you'll find something to mock Bush about, you could w any Pres we ever had if you had that little ability to believe in Americas people and our resolve. .

Yes, this is what is needed, but both sides use the others mistakes and failures to get themselves elected. It is the only thing that is, and ever will be important to them. Politicians may go into office with a pure heart, but to get to high office, they must turn corrupt and take private interests money. We all know this, yet the same pigs are elected year after year. Want a solution, next time there is an election, vote as many candidates in as possible that do not take money and that do not follow a party. Then we will see some problems get solved.

Admit we made mistakes & shake hands?! I think it goes a bit deeper than that! You go up to someone who lost a loved one in Iraq & give them that line!
You bet there are some fine people serving in both houses & some of them did speak up against what was happening in this country. They were not heard. I do not know what party one friend belongs to nor do I know how any of my family votes except my husband. It is none of my business. So who do I admit mistakes to & shake hands? I don't want to make you laugh but isn't your idea a bit naive?

sometimes bridges are burnt...

some would say if someone has acted poorly toward you for years on a daily basis, you could be a fool to give them another chance?

when do you say "enough is enough"?

you know, i thought i could if you were openminded, but your distrust of foreigners and their banks shows you couldn't even keep it up for three sentences.
