you should start off with a nutritional diet.healthy foods are your best choice.
and make sure your muscles are strong.
if you never played tennis before, you should watch some pro's playing (on youtube or something)and start off there. you can copy some of their moves too, to give you a basic idea.
and remember to practice a lot!!it's the best way you'll make the team..
good luck and best wishes!!

I taught tennis over the summer and helped two girls make their tennis team. Understand basics on how to swing first. That is way to much for me to tell you in a message. Go on to tennis.com. They have amazing tips for all skill levels (they have articles just for beginners too). After that I would play at least 3 hours a day. You cannot make the team if you cannot get your serve in. You should practice your serve a lot. It doesn't matter if doesn't go in fast, just if it goes in. You also have to be able to hit from the back of the court. You should be standing somewhere near the back of the farthest line (the base line). If you have a lot of difficulty doing this, scoot up into the court and slowly move your way back. Practice with a friend if you can (that is the best way to get better). Really you should read those articles and they will tell you were to stand and basics on how to hit the ball.
If you are an athletic person, that will really help you learn fast. If your high school is a small high school, it is easier to make the team. Realize that you will not make the varsity team. You will be put on the JV. A girls tennis team is not as you as you think it is to make. It is still a very good experience. Good luck.
