A quite eruption is like the volcano in Hawai. It only leaks out lava, smoke and it melts to form crust (or land). The explosive eruption can cause it to leak out lave, smoke and throw of rocks made of dried lava and create a really big cloud and block of sun light creating its heat to contain under the cload and not letting it escape which is making the land warmer.
