Part A.

Since the box of super clean costs $5.50 and the box of touch cycle is 10% more, you can write the following equations:

($5.50)/100 = x/110. This is your ratio to use.

Cross multiply the ratios and you get the following:

$5.50*110 = 100 *x. Divide both sides by 100 and you get

$5.50 *110/100 = x

Part B

Use the answer that you got for part A and divide that by 40 oz and that will get you your price per oz. For super clean, divide 5.50 by 30. Which ever one is less is your choice.

well you know that the 40oz is 10% more than the 30oz.
You can just find 10% of 5.50 and then add that to 5.50 then you have Part A because 10% of 5.50 is the more than part. it also works with ratios remeber is/of=%/100 so you want
110%/100%=X/5.50 then just solve for X and that is Part A

For Part B you just need to find which one gives you more bang for you buck. oz/$$$ of super clean compared to oz/$$$ of toch cycle and you get which one is better buy

A) the 40 oz box costs 5.50 x 110% = 5.50 x 1.1 = $6.05

b) the 30 oz size costs 5.50/30 oz = .18333 per oz
the 40 oz size costs 6.05/40 oz = .15225 per oz

so the 40 oz box is a better buy

part a:
super clean=5.50
tough cycle=5.50+(5.50*.10)

part b: they are asking which one costs less per ounce so you divide the total cost by how many ounces it is.
super clean=5.50/30
tough cycle=cost from part a/40
