no jobs like mowing lawn. an actual job like working in a restuarant or something.

I think the legal working age is 14, so technically, yes. However, most places require you to be 16 or 18. Also, you have to consider how you would get to your job. Most 14 year olds do not have a license, so unless your really lucky and have a place that hires 14 year olds and is within biking distance, I would say stick to mowing lawns. I know it sucks, I'm in the same position, but I only have a year before I can drive to where ever I want to work. Keep in mind too, it probably varies from state to state, or even between countys. In the UK the answer is no... why do you want to get emplopyed at 14 .. I mean enjoy life now. You will be working for the rest of your life when you turn 16 mate!!!

When I was 14 I had a job at a video rental store...it wasn't a national chain though.

There are alot of scams out there but if you're looking to just earn a little extra there are sites out there. You just have to work at it. Here are a few sites i'm on that don't require you to pay any money. These sites you get paid to post discussions.

you can but you have to get a workers permit and can only work certain hours
